The 2005 ISDE was held in Slovakia in a small town called Povaska Bystrica.Between 13th and 18th September. It was a well attended event and the local people were most welcoming although the weather was a bit wet a couple of days this type of terrain suited the British riders. This is the damage caused by one of the riders, he had just changed his brake pads and as he was in a hurry had not pumped his front brake so failed to stop before crashing into the Brit team van and knocking Pete Edmondson out of his chair. Pete was quite shook up.

158 David knight One evening we were all sat around chatting when a delligation from the Spanish Team came along and asked to speak to David in private. David told us later that they had asked him to slow down a bit as he was making their riders look slow. He was certainly way ahead of the competition in 2005

The lady sat in the front is Boska, she is a Slovakian woman who was the interpreter when the ISDE had been to Slovakia during Russian Rule and had made friends with Gordon and Margaret Lucas. We were able to catch up with her while we were there and she invited us to a family party.

This guy appears on this website a few times and always seems to be eating or sleeping.

the final Motox is always well attended at these eastern European events and this year was no exception.

Once the event is over some riders celebrate by doing doughnuts and burnouts
